Bar mitzvah

The brief for this bar mitzvah was probably one of the most unusual ones that we have been asked to cater for. Hunger Games meets New World Order.

On arrival guests entered a futuristic space lit cleverly to create an industrial feel. Canap├ęs were modern and challenged the senses. Glow in the dark ping pong entertained the children (and adults!) for the first part of the evening. The reception was interrupted by a ‘transmission’ from the boy whose bar mitzvah it was declaring a New World Order. A dramatic reveal beckoned guests to come and explore a whole new party space.

In stark contrast to the blue and industrial feel of the first space, Lillingston had designed an incredibly colourful and striking environment with soft seating, a botanical bar and food stations. The botanical bar served a variety of gins and vodkas which the adults enjoyed while the kids enjoyed our homemade cherry cola.

Tokyo dogs, beef hotdogs in soft brioche rolls with kimchi and Asian sauces, were served in cardboard hot dog holders. An Indian curry station offered a selection of curries, rice and dahl. A sushi and sashimi station complete with a whole salmon that had been cut in three and set in ice, proved the most popular. Ice cream, sorbet and fresh fruit was served as pudding. Appetites sated, the evening then continued with live music and plenty of dancing.
