Urban Raw

The vegan and raw food movement is gaining momentum with, amongst others, Deliciously Ella and Hemsley & Hemsley promoting all things nutritious and blazing a trail towards healthier eating. Raw food also shuns gluten and refined sugar, instead focusing on fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds with nothing heated above 40°C to preserve nutrients. The benefits of eating raw are more energy, better skin and the added bonus of weight loss. Eating raw can be time consuming, but you don’t need expensive kit like hydrators to start off with. A sharp mandolin is a good place to start along with a decent cold pressed juicer, which are now affordable. You don’t have to eat raw all of the time, aim for 50-70% daily and you will be off to a good start.
